rare Revox B291-S and sinfully expensive, Premium-Hifi
The premium version of the Revox B291 turntable the B291-S from the S series, is very rare and incredibly expensive.
The Revox H9 looks very similar to the Revox B291-S. The lettering has moved, the side panels are different, the feet have been modified, and the outer buttons have been given a frame. Everything else, especially the electronics and mechanics, is completely identical!

Complete electronics of the turntable Revox B291, H9, Premium-Hifi
The electronics of the B291 turntable have been completely redesigned compared to previous models. Where previously three circuit boards shared the task and logic modules handled control, now only one large circuit board is installed. Control is handled by a one-time programmable controller. The controller monitors the turntable's status, keystrokes, and remote control signals. It also features automatic tracking of the lead-in groove of singles at 45 rpm speed.
Integrating the equalization preamplifier wasn't possible, so the only option left was an impedance converter that decouples the cartridge from the cabling and its damaging cable capacitance. This, in turn, requires the necessary capacitance to be plugged into the tonearm. But it's a thousand times better than having to work with cable capacitance!
High-end phono preamplifier with mica, polystyrene (Styroflex) and KP capacitors, passive equalisation, Premium-Hifi
We at Premium-Hifi also once tried integrating a high-quality passively equalized RIAA preamplifier. Despite decoupled and filtered the power supply multiple times, we weren't successful either. Passive equalization, mica, polystyrene, and KP capacitors, as well as the best op-amps from BurrBrown, are of no use. It simply doesn't work! Once the amplifier is in, the transformer, the power supply, has to come out :-)
The development of the tonearm was so ingenious that only minor changes were made throughout its entire production run. Yes, the damper was changed, and the lengths were adapted to the design, but that was it! Durable and robust, like everything from Revox at that time!
The situation is the same as with the drive of the Revox B710 and B215 cassette decks, the Revox A76, A77, A78, B77 and so on!
As with all Revox record players, we also offer a comprehensive range of accessories and spare parts. We have discontinued supply of repair kits for record players. The supply of components for the ICs is no longer good! However, suitable capacitor sets will always be available. Furthermore, we at Premium-Hifi offer replacement circuits for the NF2EB relay for the tonearm control, transport strings, photodiodes and IR receivers, repairs, overhauls, Nextel coating, systems and installation, and more.
Erstklassige Staubschutzhaube von Premium-Hifi

We offer brand new dust covers suitable for all Revox turntables (B790, B791, B795, B291, and H9). The covers fit perfectly, of course. The weight of the covers is also suitable, so you can leave the cover open in any desired position. We offer the covers in smoked glass and clear. Smoked glass is the original color, but clear, completely transparent also looks damn good!
